REPAIR SERVICE PROVIDERS

repair service providersAlthough the economic justification to purchase or lease an OSA for the purpose of providing vehicle repair services will vary depending on the number of vehicles serviced and the types of services provided, the following experience will justify the investment:

  1. If Oil Analysis is sold as a menu item, on average, 15-20 analysis could be sold per month with a SRP of $14.95-24.95 each.
  2. For every 100 high mileage (over 75,000 miles) vehicle engines analyzed, on average, 10 will have a coolant leak and require a head gasket replacement.  1-2 will be severely damaged and require an engine overhaul or replacement.
  3. For every 100 power steering systems analyzed, with over 40,000 miles without a fluids change, on average, 10-13 will required a system flush to eliminate wear metals and a replenishment of fluid with a fresh additive package.
  4. For every 100 high mileage (over 100,000 miles) transmissions analyzed, approximately 6-9 will require a systems flush to remove wear metals, and 1-2 will require a complete overhaul or replacement.
  5. Fleet sales success rates are higher when on-site diagnostic analysis of used fluids is packaged within the annual fleet service contract.

FLEET OPERATORfleet operators

Although the economic justification to purchase or lease an OSA will vary depending on the size, age and condition of fleet, support for having an OSA is usually based on the following economic factors:

  1. By using Oil Analysis to extend the time interval between oil changes, annual oil change savings of approximately 25% can be realized as a result of less vehicle down time, fewer oil filter purchases, reduced fresh oil usage, reduced used oil disposal, reduced used oil filter disposal, and reduced service bay labor as a result of fewer oil changes.
  2. By using Oil Analysis as an integral component of a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program, lower cost repairs can be made when problems are first identified rather than waiting for a catastrophic, and very expensive, failure.
  3. A comprehensive PM Program will result in extended vehicle life, increased vehicle up time, and increased vehicle residual value.
  4. On-Site Oil Analysis will speedup the service bay diagnostic effort and result in increased service bay throughput and productivity.
